Contact Circle Coordinator

Contact Circle Coordinator

Weekly · 4 to 6 hours
Rode Kruis Regio Zuid - (Brabant / Zeeland / Limburg)

With the Well Prepared activities, the Red Cross focuses on preparing for emergency situations and accidents in and around the home. During emergency situations, people are initially dependent on themselves and others in the immediate vicinity before professional help arrives. In every neighborhood there is someone who has little contact with the environment. Someone who does not often talk to the neighbors and does not like to rely on others. Such a person is vulnerable when something goes wrong. In an emergency, someone may need help, but there is no one to fall back on. With the Red Cross contact circle, people do not go unnoticed. In order to realize this, we are looking for an enthusiastic contact circle coordinator in Tilburg who wants to shape this. A Contact Circle is a group of people who form a circle together by having contact with each other every day to ask if everything is going well. The goal of the circle is that a participant never goes unnoticed for more than 24 hours. In addition, the circle also functions as an information channel in times of emergency. The contacts are often made by telephone, but other means of communication are also possible. The Red Cross organizes these contact circles at a local level. What will you do? As coordinator of the contact circle, you are the first point of contact for the volunteers. It is important that they know that someone is there for them and can advise them if they have any questions. The volunteers can call if a participant of the contact circle does not answer or if they want to tell their story. It is important that they feel heard and safe. About once a month you take the initiative yourself and call the volunteers so that there are short lines of communication between them. Furthermore: · Register your participants and take care of new participants to keep the circle running · You manage any waiting lists and keep the district coordinator informed of the progress. · You look for new participants and volunteers in collaboration with the Social Domain team · You conduct the intake interviews with participants. · Twice a year you organize a (in)formal meeting for all volunteers of the contact circle for your location as a thank you for their efforts What do we ask? · Someone who is preferably available 1 or 2 fixed mornings per week · Has knowledge of administrative programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel. We also work with Teams for online meetings and document management · Affinity with the target group of the contact circle, the elderly · Empathy and patience · A certificate of good conduct (VOG), which we will request for you free of charge. What do we offer you? Working in a team that is still developing and which you can therefore help shape yourself. Meetings to exchange experiences with other coordinators. The opportunity to gain knowledge and experience as a coordinator for one (or more) contact circle(s). The opportunity to follow internal training courses including GoodHabitz, a learning platform that all Red Cross volunteers can use. Travel and expense allowance and insurance. Interested? Are you interested in this position or would you like to know more first? Click on the button below 'I want to help'.
