Do you want to help the Red Cross in your area? We really need you as a Basic First Aid Provider. We will provide you with a first aid training and other certificates that you need. In order to meet the competence requirement, you will be available as a first aid provider for an average of 4 hours per month. What do we offer you? We offer you the opportunity to make a difference for someone else. You do this together in an enthusiastic and friendly team. We challenge you and give you the opportunity to develop yourself personally. For example, we will provide you with an extensive first aid course, you will learn how to provide mental first aid and how to use a walkie-talkie. The Red Cross helps people in need. We do that around the corner – and far away. We do this from our hearts and with our sleeves rolled up. And we do this with many volunteers who work with passion. We work worldwide based on our seven basic principles: Humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntariness, unity and generality. Enthusiastic guest lecturers General and First Aid (voluntary). The Red Cross has developed various general and first aid education programs for all levels of education. The teaching offering consists of online teaching material that teachers can use themselves and as an extra, guest lessons can be requested from the Red Cross. The guest teacher provides guest lessons at schools in the West Brabant region. By following training courses, the education volunteer specializes in one or more guest lessons: First Aid or Hero of Humanity. In addition, the volunteer has the opportunity to support sponsorship activities such as the Red Hero Kids Run. Contact Circle Coordinator

Fortunately, we do not often have to deal with major disasters in the Netherlands. Nevertheless, it is useful to be well prepared for a possible calamity. The Well Prepared activities of the Red Cross focus on being prepared for emergency situations and accidents in and around the home. One of these activities is the Contact Circle. Contact Circles are organized at the Red Cross at a local level. In Tilburg we are looking for a Contact Circle Coordinator. A Contact Circle consists of a group of people who form a circle by calling each other every day to ask if everything is going well. Calling has an alarm function and prevents it from going unnoticed for more than 24 hours if something is wrong with a participant. If a participant does not answer, a contact person will be called to take a look. In addition, the Contact Circle also functions as an information channel in times of emergency. What will you do? - As coordinator of the Contact Circle, you are the first point of contact for the volunteers. You give them advice or are a listening ear when they want to tell their story. Not knowing where your father, mother, brother or sister is. That is the harsh reality for thousands of people every year. They have lost contact with their loved ones as a result of war, conflict, natural disaster or migration. Where do you start looking? The Red Cross helps to find missing family members and to restore contact. We do this together with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and all national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies. With the help of this network, we can start a search in many places around the world. Do you want to contribute to finding and connecting family? Then this position at Restoring Family Links (RFL) is something for you! What will you do? As an RFL volunteer, you receive the people seeking help at a Red Cross office, conduct conversations (with or without an interpreter) and fill in a digital (tracing) form together. You inform the person seeking help about the (im)possibilities of the RFL services. You offer a listening ear and encourage those seeking help to continue searching themselves with the help of search tips. In addition, you maintain contact with those seeking help and with professionals in the Migration and Restoring Family Links department about the progress of a request for help. You ensure that the (interim) results of the request for help are fed back in a timely manner. You are also responsible for the administration of tracing requests in the CRM registration system. We try to give participants a basic knowledge of the Dutch healthcare system and to offer a listening ear in difficult times. Will you help migrants in a vulnerable position to stay healthy?
