Volunteer nursing ward ETZ
Your challenge A volunteer is present every day in the patient rooms and the living room of various nursing departments. The volunteer offers the patients of the department the opportunity for distraction and relaxation, including by means of the following tasks (may vary per department): • The volunteer brings patients (possibly in a wheelchair) to the living room and back to their own room • The volunteer offers space for a chat, a listening ear and comfort where necessary, both in the living room and in the patient rooms • The volunteer offers relaxing activities • The volunteer ensures that the living room looks neat, cozy and well-kept • The volunteer provides the patients with food and drinks (always in consultation with the care assistant on duty) and provides support with the meal if necessary. Your profile • Friendly, socially skilled and a good listener • Empathetic: combining involvement with patients with the ability to distance yourself. • Independent within the given frameworks • Able to deal with the diversity of patients in the department • Easily make and maintain contact with patients • Able to work well together • Flexible, sufficiently mobile and stress-resistant. Our offer The hospital pays a lot of attention to volunteers; they are involved in the hospital organization as much as possible. Volunteers receive the annual end-of-year gift and festivities for staff are also for volunteers. In the department where the volunteer will work, a contact person has been appointed as a point of contact for the daily routine. Availability We currently have various vacancies from Monday to Friday. Working hours are from 10:00 to 13:00. Information and application? If you are interested or have any questions, you can contact Will van der Heijden or Mariëlle Wols, Volunteer Coordinators. An appointment will then be made with you for an initial introduction. If it appears during that conversation that both parties are enthusiastic, a placement interview will follow in the department. After that, you start with an induction period in which you get to know the department and the volunteer work better. We work with a trial period of about 2 months, after which we evaluate how it goes.
