When you work as a volunteer, of course, something can go wrong. Think of broken glasses or damage to your clothing or bicycle. The municipality of Tilburg appreciates the efforts of every volunteer and has therefore taken out collective damage insurance.
If damage is demonstrably occurring during and/or in direct connection with voluntary work, compensation is in principle possible. Conditions: It is a kind of safety net: you can only use this volunteer insurance if your own liability insurance policy does not or does not fully provide for compensation. The volunteer work must take place within Europe.
You report the damage to your own insurance company. You also indicate that you also want to claim the volunteer policy of the municipality of Tilburg. This is only possible if damage has been caused by acts as a volunteer. In the event of an accident with damage and/or injury, the collective Accident Insurance is in effect. In that case, you or your organization will report the accident directly to the municipality (via VrijwilligersTilburg).
Download the damage form here . Fill this in and add relevant documents such as quotations and invoices, photos and testimonials.
VrijwilligersTilburg checks the data and assesses whether the claim has a chance. If so, it will forward the claim to Centraal Beheer. Centraal Beheer will settle the claim with the volunteer and/or his or her organisation.
The municipality plays no further role in this, even if the insurer rejects the claim. Knowing more? Download the full policy conditions or view the special Achmea page .
